Q: I am interested in getting you to help me write a song, how much does it cost?
A: Our fee is USD$2,000 per song (+ taxes).
Q: How much will you charge for taxes?
A: This depends on your location. In the invoice, we will include VAT or GST applicable to your country. ie: Australia (10% GST), EU (17%-27% VAT), UK (20% VAT), etc.
Q: How long does it take to write my song?
A: We typically require 7-14 days to complete your song from start to finish.
Q: Would an instrumental song with no singing be at a lower cost?
A: No. Irrespective of the inclusion of vocals, our price is flat rate. The completed song will be between 2-5 minutes long, with or without lyrics.
Q: What if I am not happy with the song direction?
A: You have the opportunity to express your concerns during the 1st and 2nd draft reviews. It is important you listen to the song very carefully and note down all key concerns for revision. You may request to cease further work at anytime. However, you will forfeit your deposit.
Q: What are the deliverables at completion?
A: Upon final approval, you will receive an 'Audio Master Pack".
This includes:
Q: Who owns the song?
A: Once full payment is received, you are considered the owner of the song. You also retain the rights to the song's commercial use.
Q: Who owns the copyright?
A: Copyright protection applies automatically as soon as the song is completed and delivered.
Registration with a copyright office is not strictly required for protection, therefore Ellevan Productions will not register copyright on your behalf in any jurisdiction. You can register with a copyright office at your discretion.
Music covered by copyright includes musical compositions (melody, harmony, arrangement, and lyrics) and sound recording.
As we produce your song partially using AI tools, you will only be able to claim copyright on the elements that were performed by a person. This will include the work on music arrangement, lyrics and sound recording.
Conversely, your song is an original work, it does not violate the copyright of other parties, so it is unlikely to trigger copyright claims from other party against your song.
Should you encounter false copyright claims, you can review the content of the supplied ‘Audio Master Pack' to be used as proof of commercial use rights, ownership, key dates and timestamps. These will also help establish the song creation process to support your claims in case of disputes.
If you still have concerns, we recommend consulting a legal professional to determine your eligibility for copyright protection under the applicable laws in your jurisdiction. This includes the elements of musical work you contributed as part of the completed musical composition. (ie: lyrics, if any).
Q: Can I provide my own samples and voices?
A: We help you produce original songs. If you'd like us to use your own voice and/or sample, we will need to review and confirm quality and suitability. We prefer not to use samples and voices from third parties.
Q: Can I supply poems or lyrics to use in the song?
A: Yes, but it must be written by you, or you have written permission, documentation and contact details of the original author to protect yourself legally.
Q: What can I actually do with the final song?
A: You may use the song for both personal and commercial purposes without restrictions, including in projects intended to generate revenue or promote a business. This includes YouTube monetization, podcasts, social media ads, online courses, films & TV, video games and earn royalties through distribution to music streaming services.
