The record shifts through a Cantonese sadcore sigh, a spark of pop-rock, and Miami bass warming into neo-soul, each turn in sound tracing a turn in feeling. A standout collaboration with label-mate Sky 凌天宇, "假装不爱 (Pretending I Don't Care)," finds two voices circling the same ache from different angles. Across it all, I edge closer to something I'm never quite said out loud: this is, by my own admission, the closest I've come to the truth.
